We spent about four hours today getting wood for the new surf racks, nothing like heading to Bunning’s back home. After months of deliberating on the best design, we went to work, soon realizing we forgot a drill bit halting our progress. Nothing comes easy when living on a boat. A good three hours it will take to get the right bit.
Last Night in Male
Spending most our day building the surf racks, we headed into Male for our last night before the three-day voyage south. The city comes alive as most people spend the day sleeping through the heat. We took the crew out for dinner and spent the rest of the evening picking some final things before we pull anchor at six in the morning.
This is a blog of the surf and experience of living in the Maldives, surfing everyday. When not surfing were fishing, drinking and generally having the best possible time. The Maldives is a great place for a surfing holiday as the surf is consistent and epic. Stay tuned to see what the crew and guests get up too, surfing the Maldives.

Male Cruising
It feels so good to be back here in the Maldives surfing warm water and crystal clear waves. We surfed Male today, a spot called Towns, small but fun. Seeing old friends is always fun, everyone changes a bit over the few months we are away, as do we. Male is a small city so we picked up some bikes from the bike shop and headed out, stocking up on all the things needed to make the season go as smoothly as possible.

New Boards
We just picked up two fresh Alan Byrne surfboards from his shop on the Gold Coast. One is a 7' channel bottom for those bigger days, it looks like a weapon. Make sure you got your quiver ready and in tune for your surfing. There is nothing better than feeling comfortable with your equipment.

New Photo Camera
On the way to go get a new Canon 7D to add to our photo gear. The pictures come out amazing with this camera as it is pretty much a surf industry standard.
