This is a blog of the surf and experience of living in the Maldives, surfing everyday. When not surfing were fishing, drinking and generally having the best possible time. The Maldives is a great place for a surfing holiday as the surf is consistent and epic. Stay tuned to see what the crew and guests get up too, surfing the Maldives.

Maldives Surf and Music Expo 2011
As a major sponsor of the first ever Maldives Surf and Music Expo, the last two days had the Liquid crew bearing witness to the talent and enthusiasm of the local surfers here in the Maldives.
The concept behind the expo was to bring together local youth and showcase the talents and opportunities within the burgeoning local surf industry. Artists, musicians, surf guides, surf photographers, surfboard shapers, local surf brands and stores were all set up over the two days which attracted a mix of young and old and culminated in a couple of great nights hitting the dance floor!
Yesterday`s expression session was held in decent surf with a heavy current running making it hard to keep in the right spot. But check out the shots and you`ll see how amping (and aerial) everyone was.
Thanks to the DJ Shop for the continuous pumping beats, MEGA Maldives Air for the free Hong Kong flight for the Expression Session winner, all the other sponsors and everyone who participated in the event over the two days.
A special thankyou also goes out to Rjey, the man of the hour and talented local surfer, who pulled everyone together and created such a fun event.
It is Liquid`s hope that the expo continues to grow over the years and we hope we`re invited back for 2012!
