shark night

After a full day of surfing chest high glassy rights we anchored near a little island for the night. After dinner and a few beers later the fishing rods came out. It turns out there was a school of reef sharks below us and soon enough they were hitting our bait. Hamish ended up having to real two of them in, one which got away before we could see it. Don't get scared though they were less than 5 feet long. Steven pulled up a little reef fish, and here is a pic of another steve fixing his board. Keep in mind there is not much repair stuff on the boat, better to plan on nothing being here. Some surf pics from yesterday as well.

Glassy and Fun

We have been getting some fun waves the last few days, light winds and a little SW swell. Here are some pictures of the last few sessions.

First Stitches of the Season

We had our first stitches of the season when Chris got a board to the head. Luckily only two stitches. He took it like a champ as the doctor proceeded with no pain killing shot (cant spell antistetick)

Pirate Training

When not surfing the guests were staying busy with anchor climbs and some dives off the roof.

Hamish catches a Massive snapper

Last night Hamish, Brad and Nick caught some of the largest snapper we have seen here in the Maldives. It was to late to eat it for dinner so we cooked it up for lunch.

Catch of the Day

After picking up the guests we headed out to nice right hander with no one around, blue skies and clear water. One of the guests caught a yellow fin tuna, Ibraham the cook sliced the fish up for a lunchtime treat.

The Liquid Crew had a session on the front of the boat making their new shirts for the season. Some got a bit creative with the stencil. Not too much overspray on the boat either. Well done boys.

Filling Up And Heading Out

We wake to the sound of the anchor and the crew getting ready for the full day of driving. We spend the morning putting new photos on the wall and getting all our gear into place. As much as we like Male, it feels good to hear the motor running and the morning sun on our beam.
